I believe in giving back to the community in which you live, and giving back to causes that directly affect your life. Here are some of the many causes I personally support:
The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure: I have been a Volunteer Run Director for 7 years and I'm so proud that the Woodbridge/Vaughan site has raised nearly $600K in its first 3 years. To join our committee, please contact me.
Hospitals saved my life, my daughter's life and many people in my family. I lend my time and talents by hosting and producing the annual Celebration of Hope Luncheon and the Markham-Stouffville Hospital Gala. Mackenzie Health Hospital has a special place in my heart. In addition to helping to organize the first-ever NICU Picnic, I was recently shared my story with the hospital in an effort to improve patient relations and care. Sunnybrook Hospital is where Isabelle got her start. The hospital is full of brilliant minds and I actually do enjoy visiting - as a visitor, that is. We also try and attend their annual Preemie Picnic when possible.
It goes without saying that I'm a Preemie Advocate. I go out of my way to ensure people are aware about prematurity. Get informed.
Habitat for Humanity GTA, The Arthritis Society, The Heart & Stroke Foundation, Sick Kids, The Children's Wish, MS Foundation, The Rotary Club - I support them all through various channels all year long.
Pick a cause, or two, or three and help make a difference.
