Merry Christmas everyone.
For my family, the next couple of days will be frenzied and busy, with tons of eating and laughing, present opening and possibly even a Christmas musical. So I wanted to make sure I jumped on here and let everyone know that I truly appreciate you coming to my online home, liking my posts, but most importantly, becoming part of a community I never once had.
I have very fond memories of my Christmases growing up, spending time with my cousins, making homemade ravioli, my Nonno lining all of his grandchildren up to hand out an envelope. I don't remember every toy or every sweater, but I do remember playing tombola (bingo), going to Midnight Mass and taking a late night walk to see people's Christmas lights.
And the performances! I mentioned Christmas musicals, and that's no lie. My cousins and I (and now our reluctant husbands and partners) still put on a Christmas interlude of dancing and singing, and while I'm sure our parents tolerated it when we were younger, now, they cry with laughter. Now that we have our own kids, we're creating new memories, and that's what the holidays are all about. And I have to say thank you because this blog, this outlet, helps create many memories for my kids and we're very grateful.
