It's no secret that I love to cook. I often talk and post about my meal prepping, planning, cooking and preserving.
It's also not a secret that our family is very busy. (Just take a look at the state of my kitchen!) And no matter how much planning and prepping you do, sometimes, it's easier to take the guesswork out. Especially at the beginning of the year, and let me tell you why:
- there's already the pressure out there to start the year off on the "right" foot;
- to eat well, and exercise and tidy your home;
- to organize and prioritize and conceptualize for the year ahead.
I mean, that's a lot of pressure to put on yourself. And likely why most (if not all) resolutions or new year promises get thrown out the window.
I've got an idea for you; in 2019, take a load off and make your life somewhat easier. One way you can do this is at mealtime.
We recently tried Chefs Plate, a meal service that does just that - cooking made easy, for less. You place your meal order online and everything gets delivered to your home, with detailed instructions. I've tried a few meal services in the past, and I find Chefs Plate has the most variety, with unique meals that I haven't made before.
Donny and I share a lot of the cooking in our house, but sometimes, you just run out of ideas. If you can read instructions, you can make these dishes. Everything is pre-portioned and ready to go. There's nothing sexist or gender-defined or whatever; Chefs Plate is designed for people who like food, real food, and who may not have time (all the time).
There are different plans, with various skill levels and price points. Calories and ingredients are all online, so if you ARE following a specific meal plan, you can select the right meal for you. Family plans give us enough food for dinner and possibly 1-2 lunches the next day. Cost wise, meals start at $8.99/pp/meal, which is less than the cost of going out for dinner, for sure.
Most importantly, if it eases some stress and makes your life easier, even a couple days a week, it's worth it, in my opinion. Because you know the surefire way to break a resolution? Stress.
If you want to try Chefs Plate for yourself, you're in luck! All new customers can save 50% on their order with the code SimplySuppa.
It's time to give ourselves a break, make our lives a bit easier and have someone else (or service) do some of the hard-lifting for us. Make THAT your resolution.
