Summer with Kids

In a few weeks, school will be out and it’ll be me and the little ladies for the better part of 2 months. 

On one hand, I’m super excited about the time we’ll spend together. I was fortunate to have a mom who was a teacher, so we always had memorable summers. I’m also looking forward to slowing down and unwinding; it has been a busy spring. 

But then there’s the ping pong game in my head: when will I get my work done, what happens if I have a meeting, what if I can’t entertain them for 8 hours, what if they drive me crazy?

Ok slightly dramatic, but you have to understand— I was the mom excited to go back to work after 9 months of mat leave. I love my kids, but I also love what I do, and we all know it’s hard to be everything to everyone. 

So, I’ll come up with a plan, as I always do — a balance of mom days and camp days, grandparent days and play days. (And were so lucky to have the help) We’ll explore, we’ll hang out, and sometimes, we’ll do nothing but watch tv. 

And together, we’ll make lots of summer memories together.
