I thought it would be fun to open up that photo album and look back at our wedding day.
Here are 10 wedding memories for you, 10 years later. All photo credits: Art of Weddings.
2. I had two pairs of shoes for the morning of our wedding, and the cap sleeves of my dress were made to be removable. I wore borrowed stunning diamond earrings and one of my bridesmaids gifted me a chantilly lace garter from France. I still have the garter and the shoes, but the earrings went back. My wedding dress is still hanging in my dad's closet!
4. We had 12 people in our bridal party, and I had two maids of honour -- my sister and my best friend. Our bridal party wore 2019's Pantone of the year — living coral.
5. We had a beautiful and giddy day -- and the girls (and my parents) sang all day -- everything from oldies to Broadway hits. I think in the field we were singing the Sound of Music ("the hills are alive") and in the bottom, we were singing Going to the Chapel.
6. We had our reception at a golf club north of the GTA and had a "small" Italian wedding at that —250 people including guests from the US and Australia.
7. We served oysters and sushi during cocktail hour and no pasta for dinner!
8. Donny and I performed a choreographed dance for our wedding song to “You’re Just Too Good to be True” with a live band, which was a surprise to most of the guests!
9. At the end of the night, everyone got a favour, along with a note about the significance of Bomboniere and confetti.
10, It thunder-stormed in the morning (the power went out) and then during our outdoor receiving line (shattered our engagement photos)...
...But at the end of it all, we were left with the most beautiful sunset that we will remember forever.
Happy 10th anniversary to my love.
