Last year at this time, I was reflecting on the year that had passed (2018); it was very much a transitional year for me — the first year of business, new discoveries and partnerships, navigating being self-employed while balancing family time.
I vowed to make 2019 a year where I would make mindful choices, aim to say yes more than no, and focus on events, people and projects that made me happy and fulfilled. And for the most part, I succeeded.
2019 has certainly been a year of discoveries for me — both personally and professionally. Career-wise, I grew and challenged myself, and I’ll continue doing so in the new year. There were some pretty big missed opportunities, but I’m reminded when one door closes, it’s only because there is something better behind the next door.
The second half of the year brought significant and sudden loss for our group of friends, and to be honest, we won’t ever be the same. But like every experience in life, this heartbreak came, too, with a lesson: to make time for the ones you love, to celebrate, indulge, enjoy, go for it. Life is fleeting and can change in an instant.
2020 will be a year of investment for me: in myself, my business, perhaps even real estate. I’m going to try things I haven’t done ever or in decades, going to put people in positions to help me succeed. Basically, I’m going to go for it. And I hope you all will be along for the ride.
This space is a place for me to be honest and share what I love; I hope what you read/watch resonates with you in some way.
Thanks for your continued support in 2019; Happy New Year to you and yours.
