And it's time that changes -- safely, of course.
That's why we're very excited to check out the Lavazza Drive-In Film Festival set to launch in Toronto next week, running from July 20 through July 31. The Italian Contemporary Film Festival, presented by IC Savings, has teamed up with CHIN, in partnership with Ontario Place and the Embassy of Italy in Ottawa to put on this brand new, exciting event. This is a Pop Up Drive-In Experience and it couldn't have come at a better time.
There are 12 International Films in the program -- all thoughtfully curated works from some of the countries most affected by COVID-19. A different country will be featured each night, with Canada kicking off the festival. A portion of ticket sales will go directly to the Canadian Red Cross to assist with COVID-19 relief efforts.
How it works:
- Visit www.icff.ca to purchase tickets. Each ticket is $20/per person/car. If there are 3 or more people in the vehicle, there's a flat rate of $60.
- There are only 185 vehicles allowed per evening.
- All films begin at 9:15 pm and there are pre-screening activities, hosted by CHIN
Safety restrictions will remain in place, but organizers are excited to offer moviegoers a comfortable entertainment experience. To eliminate concerns over large crowds at concession stands during the event, the Festival has partnered with Pizza Nova through an app -- you place your order and it's delivered directly to your vehicle.
