Double tap if you’ve ever said: ‘I don’t have it as bad as...’, or ‘It could be worse...’, or ‘There’s still a lot to be grateful for..’
I know I have personally said or written all of these sentences, on this platform even. And while all of these statements may be true in a sense, it doesn’t mean they are not relevant, or that we should silence our feelings.
Mental health is not a competition.
What can be perceived as a small challenge for some, may be catastrophic for others. And that’s ok.
The reality is: many of us are smiling behind a lot of stress and anxiety right now — pressure we’re not accustomed to, worries that are foreign, new responsibilities that have piled onto everything else.
It’s ok to not be ok. Mental health challenges are not reserved to only those who have a clinical diagnoses. I’m willing to bet we are all battling something.
Some days are better than others, and I’m certain that some people are hurting more than some. If you want to chat, I am happy to be listening ear.
We are not alone.
